The MG Magnette is a stylish and
characterful British saloon, combining elegant period styling with enjoyable
road manners and a sporting character that made these cars particularly
appealing in their day. Today, well-preserved examples are increasingly sought
after by enthusiasts.
First registered in 1958,
this Magnette is powered by the 1,489cc engine with a four-speed manual gearbox
and has had six former keepers. The current owner acquired the car in September
2025. Finished in an attractive beige and maroon colour scheme, it features a
deep red leather interior, although both front seat squabs would benefit from
some repair.
Described as a very solid car in
good condition, the underside has been completely renewed and it has recently
benefited from a new clutch and an unleaded cylinder head. The engine is
reported to run well, while the headlining remains in very good condition.
Classic car radial tyres have also been fitted. The paintwork is presentable,
although there is scope for further improvement in the future if
desired.
The vendor advises that the MG starts,
drives and stops as you would expect and it was demonstrated on site during
photography and filming.
