Showing just 92,339 miles; Webasto sunroof and upgraded alloy
wheels; driven over 40 miles to the sale
The MGB GT
needs little introduction, combining the charm and character of MG’s much-loved
sports car with the added practicality of a stylish fixed-roof 2+2 body.
Introduced in 1965, the GT was styled with the involvement of Pininfarina and
went on to become one of Britain’s best-loved sports cars, remaining in
production until 1980.
Today, the MGB GT remains
an especially accessible way into classic car ownership, offering traditional
British sports car appeal, straightforward mechanicals and genuine usability,
while its distinctive fastback styling has aged particularly
well.
First registered in 1974, this rather
striking example originally left the factory in white before being later
repainted in gold, a colour which suits the Pininfarina-styled lines
particularly well. The car is further complemented by a Webasto sunroof and a
set of alloy wheels, shod in Nankang tyres all round and inspired by those
fitted to the MGB V8. Inside, the rich tan interior complements the gold
paintwork nicely and remains in smart and usable condition.
Showing an indicated 92,339 miles, this MGB GT presents in fair
overall condition, with some age-related marks to the paintwork. The most
notable of these are photographed to the front of the bonnet, although these do
little to detract from the overall appearance of the car.
Having driven over 40 miles to the sale on a particularly hot day
without issue, this B GT represents a usable and appealing entry point into
British classic ownership. With its distinctive colour combination, desirable
additions and appealing specification making it an interesting proposition for
relatively little outlay.
