Rare 2400 Turbo Diesel model; showing
122,777 miles; current V5C records eight former keepers; 23 previous MOT
certificates
First registered in October 1985, this
increasingly rare Rover SD1 is particularly noteworthy as one of the
comparatively few 2400 Turbo Diesel models produced. A rare sight even when new,
surviving examples are now seldom encountered, making this an unusual
opportunity for enthusiasts of the marque and collectors of British executive
cars.
Finished
in metallic blue with a grey velour interior, the car displays 122,777 miles and
presents as an honest example of this distinctive model. The current V5C records
eight former keepers and the vehicle has been driving on site, demonstrating its
ability to move under its own power, as shown in the accompanying
video.
Accompanying the car is an impressive history
file including the V5C, no fewer than 23 previous MOT certificates, 12 service
stamps, period photographs and a substantial box of invoices documenting
maintenance and expenditure over many years. Such a comprehensive collection of
paperwork provides a fascinating record of the car's history and long-term
ownership.
With
the diesel-powered SD1 now a rare survivor and supported by extensive
documentation, an increasingly hard-to-find alternative to its more commonly
encountered petrol-powered counterparts. A distinctive and practical classic
with considerable rarity value.
