Non running;
21 years of ownership; 3 former keepers; restoration project; 2x gearboxes and
what looks like to be the original engine come with the sale of the
car
First registered in November 1959, this
Austin-Healey Frogeye Sprite is offered as a restoration project and presents an
exciting opportunity for the enthusiast looking for a worthwhile project.
Showing just three former keepers from new, the car has been in the current
owner's possession since December 2005.
Originally fitted with the 948cc A-Series engine, the Sprite is now
fitted with what appears to be a B-Series engine. The car is currently a
non-runner and will require restoration, but its desirable Frogeye styling and
early production date make it an appealing basis for a variety of
projects.
Accompanying the car are two gearboxes
and what appears to be the original 948cc engine, providing useful parts for the
restoration. Unfortunately, there is no history accompanying the
vehicle.
With its lightweight construction and
sporting character, this Frogeye Sprite could be returned to its former glory as
a road-going classic, or alternatively provide the basis for an exciting track
or hillclimb car. A great opportunity for someone looking for a genuine project
with plenty of potential.
