1999 Defender 90 TD5;
restored & ready to use; 89,245 miles currently showing backed up by MOT
history; lots of work carried out recently
A superbly
presented and recently refreshed example of the iconic Land Rover Defender 90
TD5, finished in classic blue with a contrasting blue/grey leatherette interior.
This well-maintained 1999 model combines rugged capability with extensive recent
refurbishment, making it a highly usable modern
classic.
First registered in the UK on
01/09/1999, it is powered by a 2.5L diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual
transmission and shows 89,245 miles on the speedometer. It is finished in blue
with a blue/grey leatherette interior and has had six former keepers. There is
no scrap marker recorded, and the MOT is valid until November 2026 with no
advisories.
This Defender has benefitted
from significant recent work and maintenance. It has had two new front outer
wings fitted along with a new rear door and a complete rear windscreen wiper
motor. Three new tyres have been installed, along with a new rear door lock,
barrel, and keys. The rear seating has been upgraded with a foldaway seat set
and a new rear carpet has been fitted. All exterior lights have been replaced,
along with a new light switch and windscreen wiper
switch.
Mechanical and safety
improvements include a full set of heavy-duty front and rear brake discs, a
complete set of brake calipers, and a full set of wheel bearings across all four
wheels. Metal brake pipes have also been replaced. The interior has benefitted
from new front carpets, three new front seat cushions and backs, and two new
front door locks. A new complete front bumper has also been installed. The
vehicle has recently undergone a full service.
On the road, the
Defender performs as expected, starting, stopping, and driving. It was driven
over 50 miles during inspection and behaved reliably
throughout.
Overall, this is a well-sorted
TD5 Defender 90 that presents as a strong, usable example with substantial
recent investment already completed. With MOT running through to late 2026 and a
comprehensive list of recent work, it represents an excellent opportunity to
acquire a capable and increasingly desirable modern
classic.
