Beautifully reworked and upgraded; easy to
ride classic motorcycle; many improvements with timeless
looks
The
beautiful Matchless special started life as a G3 model, one of the final
iterations of a legendary British motorcycle line that began in the 1930s. Known
for its rugged reliability and classic styling.
Manufactured by associated Motor Cycles (AMC),
under the Matchless brand featuring a 4-stroke single-cylinder engine featuring
a 4-speed manual gearbox, tubular steel frame with Norton Road holder front
forks. One of the last short stroke singles made by Matchless, this bike was
built in 1966.
First registered by the London dealer in
September 1967 and showing as only three former keepers, this tastefully
reworked, upgraded and fully restored machine is now fitted with alloy 500cc
competition barrel and head, featuring electronic ignition, new tyres,
indicators and many other improvements.
The CS specification alloy engine is set in the
frame with polished alloy engine plates, the electronic tachometer sits nicely
with the period smiths speedometer, this year model was produced with a twin
down tube frame which has been powder coated, the forks are Norton Road holder
which is correct for the year, wheels are 18”.
The paperwork includes the current V5C and the
original V.E.60 original logbook showing matching numbers on the frame and
engine plus a comprehensive
folder of invoices and technical information including wiring
diagrams.
The vendor has covered 3000 trouble free miles
in the last two years, overall, a very rare machine that’s a pleasure to
ride.
