68,037 miles; un-restored having spent many years in dry storage; gloriously
original example of a true Italian sports car with flair and
agility
The Fiat X1/9 in all its Rosso red mid-engined
wedge-shaped glory, instantly recognisable.
This model was part of the final production years, built
by Bertone after Fiat handed over manufacturing in 1982. It featured a 1.5L
engine, pop-up headlights, and a removable targa top — a true Italian sports car
with flair and agility.
This X1/9 is
showing only 68,037 miles and looking stunning with Rosso red paintwork and
contrasting grey cloth interior.
The correct Bertone alloy wheels look to
be in excellent condition, including the spare, the original jack and tools,
which are also in place. Overall, a very original non modified or restored
example.
The paperwork includes the current V5C, showing only four
previous keepers having been first registered in October 1987, the last MOT
expired in March 2022 and the handbook has six service
stamps.
With a recent oil and filter
service and a new battery after having spent many years in dry storage it would
require some level of recommissioning before being used on the road, however it
starts and stops as expected. We have driven the car on site for the photographs
and video.
Under the bonnet is a box
of spares including the heater matrix and ducting, which appears to of been
bypassed and will require fitment or possibly repair.
