Lot Ended
Description
Fully restored to a high
standard; starting and driving on the button; LHD frogeye imported from the
USA
First registered in January
1959 and imported by our vendor in May 2015 from
the USA.
The heritage certificate on
file confirms it was originally cherry red when new.
The vendor has
stated the car was completely restored by himself over the last few years (some
pictures included), the body being repainted in 2022 and a new steel clamshell
bonnet replaced at a cost of £6,000. The engine was also rebored,
taking this car to 998cc and carburettor upgraded to a
1¾ SU (old unit in boot).
New floor panels were slotted
in along with a new fuel tank and sender unit.
Electronic ignition was
also installed.
A collection of invoices comes
with the sale, showing some of the parts that were purchased to complete the
restoration.
One wheel trim has been lost
recently but is easily replaced and the side windows can be found in the
boot.
In summary, this little car
certainly starts and drives, and in some peoples opinion better than
the day it left the factory, not missing a beat while being driven around on
site.
