Rare opportunity to own a
BMW 1957 Bubble car; amazing story documented on YouTube; completely rebuilt
inside and out and ready to be enjoyed
Originally built in
the BMW Isetta factory in Munich Germany in 1957 and exported to South Africa
for the first 64 years of its life. There is a letter from the GB Isetta owners
club confirming this is an original German car.
In 2021/2022 this
car was imported with a group of other cars to the UK from South Africa, from a
deceased university professors personal collection, who had a passion for BMW
motorbikes and micro cars.

When the car arrived after a very long sea voyage it is alleged to
have undertaken a 12 month full restoration inside and out and a top end engine
rebuild. Having been in a warm country for most of its life there was no
rust and no need for any welding to be carried out.
First registered in the UK in March 2023 after the
restoration, the car was enjoyed until later sold to our vendor in December
2023, who has had many adventures in the car, even taking part in a tractor run!
Regularly driven during summer months, he has decided to make room for another
project. He advised us on the drive here he was touching speeds of 50mph and
keeping up with all modern cars.
Believed to be
in the original BMW red the car has only covered about 1,000 since being
imported so 44,456 is believed to be the correct mileage since
new.
The vendor believes this car is one of around 12 of this
particular Isetta variant left in existence, making this a rare
opportunity to own an iconic BMW micro car, with another similar car currently
advertised in Turkey for €50,000.
