Description
Believed to be 1 of 4 training vehicles from the Royal Marines
Commando Training Centre; originally a 1999 winterised and waterproofed
vehicle; demobbed in 2016 and one owner since; fitted with gun mounts
and replica weaponry; driven 70 miles to the sale
Land Rovers have been in service with the UK military for a
considerable time and in the 1990s, Ricardo Vehicle Engineering produced the
WMIK (Weapons Mount Installation Kit) on a 110 chassis.
First put into service in 1999, this one was designated for training
purposes and is presented in the traditional Army/Nato
Green.
The DVLA have assigned the car a 2004
registration, based on the first record of MoD use which is on file,
although the vehicle would have been manufactured in 1999.
While in service, it was used by the Royal Marines Commando Training
Centre and the record of inspections/servicing while with the MoD are recorded
from 2004 (0 km) until 2015 (36,720km)
In 2016,
it was UK registered BM04 YFF, having been purchased by our civilian vendor who
has owned it ever since.
Regularly put through an
MOT, the most recent in May this year at 41,265km with no advisories recorded,
this formidable machine appears to have now covered 42,143km after driving some
70 miles to the auction. Accurate distance covered on these can not be
guaranteed of course.
Fitted with the rare sought
after armament mount to the rear with replica .50 calibre gun. Also, there is a
replica GPMG to be mounted on the front passenger side.
Temporary windscreen fitted so precautions may need to be considered
if you drive it away in the rain.
