Lot Ended
Description
From a deceased estate and long term 31 year ownership; in need of
recommissioning; nicely patinated interior
Dating
from August 1972 this Rolls Royce is a mid-series Shadow I (1967-1977) and is
presently finished in Old English White, although looks to have originally been
red over brown and sits on its original wheels.
Under the bonnet, we find the later (post-1970) 6.75-litre
naturally aspirated L410 series V8 engine which develops 189Bhp. Power is sent
to the rear wheels by column change by three-speed GM Turbo-hydramatic 400
automatic transmission.
Inside, we find the
typically plush Shadow I interior, with a comfortable olive green leather
interior, Burr walnut trim, electric seats, period radio and electric
windows.
The car comes to us, along with Lot 44
from a deceased estate, and has been in the same ownership since 1992 although
we gather it has not been on the road since 2015/2016. The car was started and ran prior to
delivery but sprung a fuel leak so has not been started
since.
Presenting largely well given its age,
and time off the road, although there are some signs of previous paint
correction/work as pictured. The
car will no doubt require some thorough recommissioning before hitting the roads
once again.
The history file includes only the
V5C which records five former keepers.
The car is also MOT exempt, with the last MOT expiring in January 2016
without advisory. Buyers please note the mileage looks to be a mileage
discrepancy on the digital MOT history.
