Description
No Reserve
4-speed manual diesel example on offer from
a deceased estate; long term ownership since 1978 with many years in
storage; looks to be largely sound and original
Dating from February 1973 and supplied new by F. Wilberg Ing. Of
Monchengladbach, Germany and first registered in the UK in March 1974, this
sound looking Mercedes is a W115 series 220D saloon and is finished in White and
sits upon its period correct 14” steel wheels with polished/body colour
hubcaps.
Under the bonnet, we find the OM615
2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which developed 59bhp and 126NM of torque
which drives the rear wheels via four-speed manual
transmission.
Inside, we find tan MB-Tex
interior trim, black dash trim, manual window winders, original Sanyo
radio/cassette player and manual wing mirrors.
The car shows just 58,125 miles which looks to be correct, given
the car comes to us from a deceased estate, the owner having purchased the car
in July 1978.
The history file includes the V5C
showing just two former owners, the owner’s pack including service booklet
showing 10 historic entries and some original data cards. The car is of course MOT exempt, with no
MOT record since at least 2006 when they became digitised.
The car has not been run since arrival with us, or for some years
having remained in storage alongside Lot 43 but looks to be in a sound
condition, although requiring some recommissioning.
On offer at No Reserve this low indicated mileage, low owner W115
220D looks like it could have much to offer.
