1991 Lotus Elan SE (M100)

Tidy four-owner M100 in tubocharged SE guise from a deceased estate ; half leather and showing just 62,757 miles

Supplied new in October 1991 by Reynolds of Liverpool, this attractive M100 series Elan SE Turbo is finished in white with half leather and cloth interior and has maintained its original 15inch 7-spoke twist alloy-wheels.

Coming to us from a deceased estate, the car has seen little recent use and shows just 2,000 miles in the last few years. The car looks well, with but a few marks as pictured to the body, starting promptly and running well as we shunted it around for these images.

Within the history file, we find the V5C showing just three former keepers to our current along with the owner’s manual with service section revealing 11 stamps inc. PDI by Europa Sports Cars of Liverpool, the last in July 2017 at 57,800 miles plus additional booklet for the 8-year anti-corrosion warranty showing 2 stamps. There is the original bill of sale £22,000 in October 1991, which details white paint as a £1,501 option and Blaupunkt RDS radio/cassette player a £276 option and Sigma alarm instruction booklet.

Furthermore, we find a few old invoices including for routine maintenance including a timing belt in 2010, some 23 old MOTs dating back to 1994 at 12,957 miles plus the current, valid until April 2022 showing just 2 minor advisories for parking brake and service brake inefficiency.

Ready to be enjoyed, these punchy little lightweight rag-tops are great fun, the Isuzu sourced 1.6 turbo engine giving far more shove than you might expect with typical Lotus handling – lots of fun for an affordable guide price.
