Supplied new by The Country Garage BMW main dealers in February 1995, this now rare and collectible E34 series M5 saloon is from the later part of production and features the more potent 3.8-litre S38B38 straight-six engine producing 335bhp driving the rear wheels via 6-speed Getrag 420G manual transmission. This delivered a 0-60mph of just 5.9 seconds – very fast for the era and still quick by today’s standards.

Finished in super Avus Blue Metallic the car rides on its correct (MY1994) 18inch Style-37 M-Parallel alloy wheels (known as M-Pars) the car looks very pretty and meaty. Inside, we find half grey coth and Alcantara trim, electric sunroof, electric seats, dual zone analogue climate control with AC, trip computer, Clarion radio/CD player, electric windows, mirrors and little else – pleasingly simple.

Showing just 90,315 miles the car is low mileage for its age and genre, most of these usable super-saloons having covered far more. Starting promptly and running well as we moved it around for these shots the car looked and felt good.

Within the history file, we find the owner’s pack with many booklets and manuals, the service book revealing 9 stamps + 2 hand written entries, the last of which was in August 2008 at 79,367 miles and looked to include a service plus front strut top mounts and cups too. In addition, the car comes with a current MOT valid until April 2022 showing no advisories but revealing the car has covered fewer than 5,000 miles in the last 6 years and looks to have been off the road between 2016 and 2021.
