1998 Land Rover Defender 90 V8 County 50th Anniversary

Super JDM spec 3.9 V8 automatic County Special 50th Anniversary edition and just 75,600km

Supplied new in August 1998 to Land Rover Japan (Kabushiki Kaish) in Atlantis Blue (a flip blue/green colour) with grey cloth this Export spec model is the 50th Anniversary Edition, '50 of 50' and features the 190bhp 3.9 litre Rover V8 mated to four speed automatic transmission.  Boasting electric windows, air conditioning, sunroof, heated rear window, 4x folding rear seats side steps, mud flaps, external and internal Safety devices roll bar for front occupants, snorkel, checker plating and front spot lamps its got proper road presence and is dripping with rugged cool factor and attitude.

Imported in August 2017 by Simmites Ltd its been in our vendor's hands since October 2017, (first in his business name, then his own) and has been kept on his estate in a nice dry barn seeing little use, on trickle charge.  Starting promptly and running as it should as we manouvred it around for these images it looks every bit as good underneath as it does atop. 

The history file includes the V5C, British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certified copy of a factory record, 2 sets of keys with Cobra alarm fob, owner's pack and replacement service book showing 2 stamps by Simmonites Ltd of Thornton for delivery and service in October 2017 at 46,000 miles, the truck has covered at the time of cataloging just 75,600Km (46,975 miles) and comes with a recent MOT running until August 2021 with just one minor advisory noted for 'Nearside Front play in bushes on steering damper'.

One of just 1071 produced for the global market, this is one of just 50 50th Anniversary examples sent to Japan, the rest heading to Europe (the UK got just 385), and the Middle East and as such, is undoubtedly a rare beast and now highly collectible.  Given this, their values have continued to climb and we now see them rarely.  An exciting opportunity for sure and given its in such sweet condition we expect the bidding to be competitive.
