A Very rare Austin A55
pickup; carefully restored over the years; well know for competing in and
attending numerous classic events; complete with spare wheel and spare to ensure
this little car is kept on the road
The Austin A55 Pickup is a
rare and characterful example of Britain's post-war commercial vehicles,
combining classic Austin styling with genuine working-vehicle practicality.
Increasingly difficult to find, restored examples are now popular at classic
vehicle shows and events.
First registered in September
1958, this A55 Pickup is powered by the 1,100cc engine and is finished in grey.
It has had nine former keepers and has been with the current owner since January
2018. The speedometer currently shows 61,119 miles, although this cannot be
verified.
The pickup has been carefully
restored to a high standard over the years and has been enjoyed extensively,
competing in and attending numerous classic vehicle shows. A collection of spare
parts accompanies the sale, offering useful additional equipment for the next
owner. Unfortunately, there is very little history with the
vehicle.
The vendor advises that the
Austin starts, runs and drives as you would expect and it was demonstrated on
site during photography and filming.
A rare opportunity to acquire
a smartly restored and usable example of Austin's distinctive post-war pickup,
ready to continue its life on the classic show circuit or simply be enjoyed on
the road.
