The Jaguar 420G was the
flagship of the Jaguar range, offering graceful styling, effortless six-cylinder
performance and an exceptionally spacious interior. Increasingly rare today,
these imposing luxury saloons represent outstanding value and are becoming ever
more sought after by enthusiasts.
First registered in February
1970, this Jaguar 420G is powered by the 4,235cc petrol engine with an automatic
transmission and is finished in deep red with a cream beige leather interior.
Having around 6 former keepers from new, it has been with the current
vendor since August 2000 and shows 41,866 miles, although this cannot be
verified.
During the vendor's ownership
the car was regularly maintained and spent many years serving as a wedding car
as part of a Jaguar fleet, where its size and elegance made it an ideal choice.
Although it has seen little use in recent years, it has remained in garage
storage and is now offered ready for its next
custodian.
The history file includes 16
previous MOT certificates, a workshop manual, wiring diagram, old tax discs and
the original jack and toolkit. The vendor advises the Jaguar starts, drives and
stops as you would expect and it was driven on site for photography and filming.
There is some rust visible on the boot lid and lower corner of front screen,
although this does little to detract from the car's overall
presence.
A rare, low-ownership example
with known long-term ownership and an interesting history, this handsome 420G
