Only three previous keepers and displaying 89,670 miles; later
desirable 4,196cc V8; 'Midnight Black' metallic over Ivory upholstery; 20" BBS
alloys; a lot of Jaguar for the money
The Jaguar
XK8 offers an appealing blend of elegant styling, refined V8 performance and
comfortable grand touring ability. Introduced in 1996, it quickly became a
popular choice for those seeking a capable long-distance cruiser with
unmistakable Jaguar character.
Of the range, the
later 4.2-litre models are generally considered the pick of the bunch,
benefitting from increased power and torque, a six-speed automatic gearbox and
numerous refinements over the earlier 4.0-litre cars. Today, they continue to
represent an attractive and affordable route into modern Jaguar
ownership
Manufactured in 2002, this later
4.2-litre XK8 is presented in Midnight Black Metallic over an Ivory leather
interior, a striking combination further complemented by its bright silver
20-inch BBS alloy wheels.
The car presents in
honest condition for its age, with the most notable cosmetic imperfections
photographed. These do little to detract from its smart overall appearance,
while the contrasting interior remains a comfortable place to spend time,
perfectly suited to the XK8's grand touring character. Pleasingly, the
headlining is also in particularly good order, having avoided the sagging often
associated with Jaguars of this era.
Having had
just three former keepers, including our vendor, and displaying 89,670 miles,
this XK8 appears to have been well cared for throughout its life, standing apart
from many examples that have accumulated considerably higher mileages and longer
ownership histories.
Driven to the sale and
performing as expected on site, this well specified big cat seemingly represents
excellent value for money and a great entry point into Jaguar
ownership.
