The Volkswagen Split Screen
van is one of the world's most recognisable classic vehicles, with restored
examples commanding strong prices and remaining highly sought after by
collectors and enthusiasts alike.
First registered in October
1965, this original right-hand drive Volkswagen Split Screen is offered as a
full restoration project. Originally finished in white, it has had 12 former
keepers and has been in the current ownership since May 2011. Although
originally fitted with a 1,493cc air-cooled engine, the engine is no longer
present.
A considerable amount of the
body restoration has already been completed, providing a solid starting point
for the next stage of the rebuild. Included with the vehicle are a steering
column, bumper and a selection of additional parts, although prospective buyers
should note that the project is far from complete and will require significant
further work before returning to the road.
An increasingly rare
opportunity to acquire an original right-hand drive 1965 Split Screen Camper
project, offering the chance to restore one of Volkswagen's most iconic classics
to its former glory.
