Built as a full-scale interpretation of the 2001
LEGO Jack Stone Res-Q model; Briggs & Stratton Quantum XM55 hydrostatic
petrol engine; hold on tight and don’t lego!
Presented here is a bespoke, one-off go-kart/buggy, built as a
full-scale interpretation of the 2001
LEGO Jack Stone Res-Q model. Constructed predominantly in metal rather than
plastic, the vehicle measures approximately 4ft in width and carries a notably
robust presence.
Power comes from a Briggs & Stratton
Quantum XM55 hydrostatic petrol engine with pull-start, driving through a simple
single-pedal stop-and-go system. It runs and drives,
though
as with many individual
builds
some further tweaking
and refinement may improve the ride quality, which is currently on the lively
and bumpy side. A front-mounted winch, chunky tyres, and
newly applied custom decals complete the external
specification.
The history of the build is unknown, although
there has been unverified speculation that it may have been produced for use in
a Legoland show environment. Recent work by the vendor includes restoration to
the body, paintwork and mechanical components, bringing it to its present tidy
and usable condition.
A highly unusual and visually striking
creation, offering considerable novelty appeal and certain to draw attention
wherever it is displayed.
