Dating from
November 1998 this stylish Type 916 Alfa Romeo Spider comes to us in desirable
Lusso TwinSpark guise, its zesty 2.0 16 valve engine developing 153Bhp (as a
1998 face-lift example, up from 148Bhp) driving the front wheels via 5-speed
manual transmission.
Finished in typical Alfa Red
with contrasting black Mohair hood, the car sits well on its pretty 16-inch
alloy wheels. Inside, we find the typically inviting interior of the GTV/Spider
model with black, fluted leather seats and immersive cockpit design with sporty
silver trim, air conditioning, CD player and here, electrically operated
roof.
Showing 124,264 miles, the car looks well,
but with a few signs of age. The hoods rear screen could do with a clean or
replacing at some point, we was unable to get the roof to retract since its been
on site so this may need looking into.
The
history file includes the V5C showing 6 former keepers, with the last keeper
showing 8 years. In addition, we find the owner’s pack with manuals, current MOT
valid until June 2026 with only 3 advisories (the radiator was replaced to stop
the coolant leak straight after the MOT).
Included are details of a replacement centre exhaust section and a
selection of bills including a £2,375 spend in October 2013 (on a repaint,
central locking repair, timing belt service and various suspension components
and other assorted parts) and routine maintenance invoices dating back to 2000
along with 4 old MOT certificates.
