1999 Lotus Elise Series 1 finished in stunning Lotus Ruby Red
Metallic with a black leather interior and colour-coded hood. First registered
in April 1999, this iconic lightweight British sports car is powered by the
spirited 1,796cc engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, delivering
the pure and engaging driving experience for which the Series 1 Elise has become
renowned.
This example has had six former keepers
from new and was purchased by the current vendor from the respected Lotus
specialist Paul Matty Sports Cars in October 2021. The odometer currently
displays 53,208 miles, with the vehicle having covered approximately 227 miles
to the auction venue. It was reported to have started, run and driven whilst on
site for photography and a short video presentation.
Accompanying the car is a useful history file including the original
handbook, two previous MOT certificates, invoices documenting some of the
maintenance and work carried out over the years, along with manuals and
technical drawings. Combining the Elise's legendary handling characteristics
