Few modern classics capture the spirit of Audi’s performance
renaissance quite like the original R8. Introduced as a genuine supercar with
everyday usability, the first-generation R8 remains a benchmark for balance,
design, and driver engagement.
This example was
first registered in December 2007 and is powered by the iconic 4.2-litre
naturally aspirated V8 (4,163cc), mounted mid-ship and paired with the highly
sought-after gated six-speed manual gearbox, a combination now increasingly rare
and highly regarded.
When new, the car was
specified with £5,605 of optional equipment, contributing to an original list
price of £81,505. The factory options include Navigation Plus, Audi Magnetic
Ride, the Light Package, Bluetooth phone preparation, CD autochanger,
auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated front seats, tyre pressure monitoring
system, stainless steel pedals, cruise control, a carbon fuel filler cap, carbon
wing mirror covers, and carbon side blades, all of which enhance both usability
and visual appeal.
The odometer currently
displays 105,220 miles, and the car has been in the care of its current
registered keeper since October 2022. It benefits from a full service history
comprising 16 service stamps, with the most recent service carried out in April
2022 at 98,502 miles. A selection of supporting invoices is also present,
detailing work undertaken over the years, although the dashboard currently
indicates that a service is due.
The MOT is valid
until December 2026 and records only a single advisory. The car has been driven
over 75 miles to site without issue and is reported to start readily, drive
well, and stop as it should.
At idle and under
acceleration, the naturally aspirated V8 delivers a thrilling and unmistakable
soundtrack, embodying the analogue character that defines this era of Audi’s
flagship supercar. A highly engaging and increasingly collectable example of a
true modern classic.
