Description
Ex-Staffs Police; interesting history;
original bakelite phone and Police radio; as seen on TVs 'Miss Marple' and 'Top
Gear'; garage stored for 28 years!
In 1953, Morris police cars were a familiar sight on
British roads, especially the Morris Six MS, a large saloon with a straight-six
engine, known for its upright
grille and long bonnet and used for patrol and pursuit duties
due to its size and power.
Manufactured in 1953 this Morris six wore the
number plate MAB 107. During active service the car was owned by the Chief
constable of Staffordshire, and it was then sold on to his chauffeur after its
time with the force was up, after which it was then laid up, unused in
the garage for 28 years!
Once recommissioned, it made appearances
in the TV film “Miss Marple (They Do It With Mirrors)” in 1991 and
also featured in “Top Gear”. All of this is well documented in the very
interesting history file and additional boxes that also contains seven
old MOT certificates, tax discs, police driver manual and several Morris
operating manuals, trophies and related memorabilia.
A very rare and interesting vehicle
that would look fantastic at any show.
