Supplied
new by University Motors and believed to be the sole 'Downton
Special' Roadster produced with a Downton-tuned
four-cylinder engine and special rectangular headlights.
There
were c.500 Downton-tuned six-cylinder MGC variants built, followed by one
four-cylinder MGB and one MGB GT.
Well known car with an interesting
history, fresh from a complete nut and bolt restoration, including a full bare
metal respray.
Rebuilt Downton four-cylinder engine with stage-2
gas flowed head.
History file includes the Heritage Certificate
confirming it to be a UK RHD Home Market car finished in Glacier White
registered in April 1972 after being built in May 1971.
Showing
only three former keepers on the current V5C complete with the old
