Rare
model, one of only 444 made; five owners, the current for 10 years; dyno sheet
shows 257bhp; ideal project to make this car your own; an affordable way
into RB5 ownership
To celebrate Richard
Burns’ first year in the Subaru World Rally Team, the RB5 (5 was the number
Richard used during the 1999 WRC championship) was launched to critical acclaim
by the press. Only 444 examples of this car were made available to the general
public, with a claimed power output of 236bhp to and 258lbft of
torque.
First registered in June 1999
and showing 180,000 miles, this Impreza has been in the current ownership for
last ten years but has spent the majority of this time parked up in dry
storage. Our vendor has now decided it is time to pass over the keys to an
energetic new owner to get this rare beast back on the
road.
Obviously in need of
recommissioning, this Subaru does start and drive and comes with numerous
invoices for upkeep, including a dyno print out from Power Engineering in
Middlesex, showing an increase in power to 257bhp.
Lots to do, lots to
like.
