Description
From a deceased estate; only 40,885 miles indicated; recent
service, four new tyres and uprated radiator; nicely original and
well-preserved
First registered
in Leicestershire in August 1972, this Rover 3500 had four owners up to c.2018
when it was acquired by our vendor’s late-husband.
There are 19 old MOTs on file which show the mileage rising very
slowly from 35,597 in 1999 to 40,880 in October 2023. In the absence of any
early history this figure cannot be warranted but the overall condition of the
car makes it seem not implausible – who knows?
There are a few invoices for routine service items from 2003 – c.2018
throughout which time it was owned by a Rover P6 Club member, Mr G Lunn of
Spalding.
More recent invoices show that it had a
service in 2020, a new alternator in 2021 and a new uprated radiator and coolant
hoses in 2022. In November 2023 the owner’s widow sent the car to Beeches Garage
of Coleford for a full service and an MOT which it passed with just one advisory
for perished tyres so all four tyres were renewed (total cost
£1,063).
As you can see in the photos, it looks
mainly solid and original with a nicely preserved beige leather interior
although the driver’s seat shows signs of wear and has a split on the squab.
There are a couple of paintwork blemishes here and there (as
pictured).
On offer here at no reserve, we are
told that the car runs and drives well but it has not been used on the road
since the MOT/service 15 months ago so some precautionary checks would be
advised before any long journeys are undertaken.
