Description
Just 2-owners from new (same family) and showing just 80,727 miles;
earlier 2-door E30 boasting a 2.0 litre fuel injected straight-six engine with
automatic transmission; sympathetically recommissioned after some years in
storage; a lovely unadulterated example
Dating from 1987, and supplied
new by RF Brown & Son BMW main agents of Hereford, this cracking little
earlier, chrome bumper BMW E30 3-series comes to us in 320i two-door Coupe form,
finished in Royal Blue and sat on a set of retro-fit 15inch BMW BBS X-spoke
alloy wheels which really set the car off (the original steel wheels with
original BMW hubcaps are included to preserve its
originality).
Under the bonnet, we find the
2.0 litre M20B20 straight-six cylinder petrol engine which develops around
127Bhp and 164NM of torque driving the rear wheels here, via four-speed ZF
automatic transmission.
Inside, we find beige cloth
interior and matching carpets with black dash and trim with manual sunroof,
manual windows, no radio and check control panel. The interior presents very well, with
great ergonomics and visibility.
The 320i has had just two
owners from new, of the same family and shows just 80,727 miles and has spent a
good number of years in storage until gently recommissioned and lightly enjoyed
by the 2nd owner, our vendor who’s vision was to maintain the
originality of the car.
Works carried out include a
repair to the rear subframe mounting, replacement of the inner and outer rear
arches which was done by a bodywork specialist, fitment of the BBS alloy wheels
with new Falken tyres, fitment of new old stock front and rear chrome bumpers,
replacement coolant hoses, vacuum hoses and fuel pipes along with a new
radiator, water pump, cam belt and tensioners.
Other works
included an upgraded cylinder head bolt kit, the tappet clearances checked, a
new rear exhaust box, new rear shocks, rear brake shoes inc. flexi pipes, front
brake discs and pads, front wishbones, tie rod eyes and ball joints. The car was of course fully serviced
during these works.
The history file also includes the V5C confirming
just one former keeper, the original Owner's pack and service book showing an
impressive 18 service stamps inc. PDI, the last in 1997 at 57,571 miles all
carried out by the supplying dealers RF Brown along with a host of supporting
bills for the above recommissioning works.
A reluctant sale of an old
friend, but one ready to be enjoyed and cherished.
