Description
Wonderful 300cc Isetta that's benefited from careful restoration; runs
and drives with 4-speed gearbox; sweet little thing!
Dating from January
1960, this fantastic little Isetta 300 looks to have been fully restored and
presents beautifully, starting and running well as we moved it around for these
shots.
Finished in two-tone green and
white it looks oh-so-period with its clever side-opening front door and steering
wheel that pivots cleverly out of the way to permit
access.
Under the back end we find the
298cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine which developed 13Bhp and 18Nm of
torque driving the single rear wheel via four-speed manual transmission with
reverse.
The history file includes an
old style V5 log book, many copies of Bubblemart magazine and a selection of
bills suggesting the Isetta was slowly restored at least between 2017-2020
including parts purchased in 2012 totaling £280 and another in 2017 which was
for an engine rebuild costing some £1,700. A further £4,420 was spent in
2019 on fitment of various parts including upholstery, the sunroof, fitment of a
new wiring harness etc all carried out by The Bromley Bubble Company on behalf
of our vendor. There are a couple of non-specific bills for £2,000 and
similar which we are told relate to paint and bodywork
too.
The file also includes a
workshop manual and some correspondence along with wiring diagrams and the
like.
A lovely example that’s
clearly had time and money poured into it on offer at an appealing estimate.
