Description
Very smart RHD example recently uprated with a new 650cc Fiat 126
engine and front disc brakes; electronic ignition; recent thorough service;
current owner 13 years; new MOT with no advisories; lots to like!
This super Fiat
500F comes with a Fiat 500 Club dating certificate which confirms that it was
built in 1966. A relatively rare RHD model, it comes with no early history but
the V5C states that it has had just two former keepers, our vendor acquiring the
car from classic car dealers Godin Banks of Kent in April
2011.
In October 2015 it was fitted with a brand
new 650cc 24bhp engine from a Fiat 126 (compared to 18bhp as standard) and it
has only covered some 150 miles since, the odometer currently showing 74,288
miles. A used Fiat 126 gearbox was also fitted along with a new clutch,
Powerspark electronic ignition and an electric fuel pump. It was also uprated
with front disc brakes in place of the original drums.
In June this year it was treated to a thorough service and tune-up at
Thompson Garages of London, a compression test showing 150psi on both cylinders.
Although it no longer needs one, it also flew through an MOT with no advisories
recorded.
As you can see in the photos, the car
looks very nice indeed and has probably been restored at some point. The
interior is especially good with very few signs of wear. An indoor car cover is
also included.
Our vendor lives in London and has
become so frustrated with the sheer number of speed bumps and the volume of
traffic in his area that he rarely gets to enjoy the Fiat, hence its appearance
in this sale.
We are told that it drives as well
as it looks and it has been starting promptly and running well as we have moved
it around on site, although the clutch is quite sharp until you get used to
it.
Altogether a nicely presented and sensibly
uprated RHD 500 that will win friends wherever it goes.
