Lot Ended
Description
From a deceased estate; impressive RHD Westy with original interior
and fittings; very solid underside; pop-top; live the dream - home is where you
park it...
First registered in August 1974, this four-berth
Westfalia has lived some, or much of its life overseas.
A RHD model, it
has a kmh speedometer with a mph decal overlay and is registered as a Historic
Vehicle and correctly as a Motor Caravan.
It comes to us via a
deceased estate and looks to have lived in a warm climate (Australia or South
Africa perhaps?) due to the remarkable state of its underside. It has clearly
had a respray and some work up top too.
It is unusual in retaining its
original Westfalia fittings, bright orange trademark fabric (bar the curtains),
poptop, rock and roll bed, overhead double bed, gas hookup, split charger with
leisure battery, sink, hob, storage cupboard, wardrobe, swing out table, stool
and opening side louvres. It also has an external electric hookup.
The
correct Westfalia tags and graphics are still present, including the Westfalia
number tag and it starts and runs well (bar a slight exhaust blow), with visible
work to the engine evident in the form of a recent carb, new heat exchangers,
coil, distributor etc.
It has decent tyres (correctly C rated for
commercial use) and stops well and comes with a handy towbar which if you don't
have a trailer is a great place to mount a bike rack. It is MOT'd
until July 2024 with just one minor advisory for a ball joint dust
cover.
Painted in its original hue of orange, it looks exceptional value
at the suggested guide price, offering fun for the summer with easy potential to
produce a truly stunning example on its sound structural
underpinnings.
RHD Westies don't come round very often and ones with
original interiors and pop tops are even harder to find. Grab it while you
can....
