Description
Pretty Pilgrim Speedster based on a VW Beetle with rorty
air-cooled 1285cc engine; all the looks and panache of the 356 without the huge
price tag
Based on a 1966 Beetle donor car and registered as a
Volkswagen, the car sadly comes with no history but has been carefully
stored by our vendor for the last two years.
Finished in white
and sat on painted steel wheels with polished hub caps, the car looks and
sits well with a black vinyl tonneau cover.
Inside, we find a very
simple, spartan interior with red front bucket seats and matching rear bench
seat with simple, effective instrumentation.
Under the rear deck, we find
the VW Beetle-sourced 1285cc air-cooled four-cylinder engine driving the rear
wheels via four-speed manual transmission.
The history file includes only
the V5C showing 13 former keepers (relating to both the Pilgrim and Beetle
donor, we assume) but no further information as to when the car was built or any
other detail. An online check of the MOT history shows that it was last tested
in March 2018 at 10,396 miles, flying through with no advisories, and the speedo
still shows the same mileage today.
Looking pretty and sounding sweet,
this Speedster will doubtless benefit from some precautionary checks before
venturing forth once more.
