Description
Last-of-the-line Spitfire; running and driving nicely on site; only
56,400 miles indicated
First registered in August 1979, this must
have been one of the last Spitfires produced and left the factory with its
1,493cc engine producing 71bhp and 82lbft of torque.
Coming from
nine-year ownership - our vendor has covered just 1,500 miles or so during
his ownership. Although Tax and MOT exempt, MOT’s can be seen online dating
from 2006-2017 (the last MOT expired August 2018) where the pass rate looks to
be impressive and in the couple of instances of failure the minor problems look
to have been resolved.
Finished in eye-catching Pageant Blue, the
body looks well, although a few blemishes and age related marks are
present. The seats look to have been nicely recovered at some point and show
minimal wear, the dash looks in good nick for the age and everything appears to
be working as it should.
A good sized history file shows some older
expenditure in 2007 for a full new exhaust system and reconditioned carburettors
and new brake master cylinder was supplied and fitted in 2015 by Bronygarn auto
spares.
Showing just 56,369 mile, starting promptly and driving nicely on
site, this looks to be a great bit of fun to get up to speed over the spring and
enjoy for the summer months.
