Description
Genuine factory-built Pick-Up from 11-year ownership that's been laid
up for a number of years; refreshingly unadulterated and ready for
some sympathetic recommissioning
Dating from
May 1967, this interesting looking Morris Minor Series III 6cwt (quarter ton)
Pick-Up has the MAU chassis-prefix which confirms it is a factory-built
example.
Our vendor purchased the vehicle in
December 2013 and it has been sitting in his barn ever since. We are told it is a solid example with a
good interior and the engine still turns. Yes it looks a bit grubby, but
the vendor was most insistent we didn’t wash it. The rear floor has been
replaced with ply.
Under the bonnet, we find the
typical 1,098cc A-series four-cylinder petrol engine driving the rear wheels via
four-speed manual transmission.
The history file
includes the V5C showing just five former keepers to our vendor (since UK
registration in 1985), a Buff continuation log book showing first registration
in the UK when new in 1967 (suggesting the car may have spent some time abroad
before re-registration in 1985) showing
three owners, May 1967, May 1977 (the same owner, moved homes) and a
change thereafter, undated and the term “Cancelled” stamped on each page, we
assume due to export?
In addition, the file
includes a useful workshop manual, driver’s hand-book, schedule of repair
charges and four old MOTs dated between 1985-1989 showing the mileage rise
from 45,266 miles in 1985 to 55,640 in 1989.
A
charming example with scope to gently recommission and then enjoy.
Buyers please note, although the VIN#
is correct on the vehicle MAU5, the V5C incorrectly records it as MAVS which you
might want to get amended.
