Much restoration work completed;
recent repaint with good interior trim; for recommissioning and minor
completion
First registered on 15th September 1961, the
continuation logbook tells us that this 406 was residing near
Swindon in the mid-1970s, before moving to Suffolk in December 1976.
The
file includes an old style V5 and a red V5C showing its previous owner acquired
the car back in 1981.
Eight old MOTs on file show an
indicated 48,646 miles by 1984, its last MOT in 2012 showing little more
had been added over the intervening period - the odometer at that time
indicating 52,505 miles. It now displays 52,545 miles. The car has been running
and driving in the last few months.
There is work to do to the headlining
and parts of the leather trim are a bit cracked here and there, but it is
ready to complete and has the makings of a fine example with relative
ease.
