Description
Comprehensively restored; ready to use; ideal promotional vehicle; a
lovely small van
Based on the Morris Eight Series E, the Z van
was widely used by the GPO for maintaining their communication network.
Introduced in 1940, some 51,000 were made before production ceased in 1953, the
GPO using nearly 13,000 of them during the period.
This 1949 model has
lived in the Doncaster area since at least the 1970s and joined the vendor's
collection in 2012 needing work. An inveterate restorer of all things, he
undertook a comprehensive restoration, delivering the super example you see
here.
Looking everybit as good underneath as on top, this super van is
ready for work or play. It is nice and compact so easy to store, has a plentiful
supply of spares should you ever need them and will go on, going on for decades
to come.
For someone looking for a promotional van, the fit and finish on
this one would reflect well on their business, or for local shows or film work,
it would be equally at home.
Registered JXY 15 which no doubt has a value
of its own, it is on offer for a fraction of the restoration costs and looks
like a lot of fun.
