Description
Two owners since 2009; well-maintained and in regular use; engine
overhauled 3,000 miles ago; petrol engine; Fairey overdrive; ready for
work
As the Heritage Certificate confirms, this
Land Rover Series IIA 88” was built in August 1967 and supplied new via JC
Coxeter & Co of Oxford. A petrol model with Fairey overdrive, it comes with
a good file of invoices back to 2009 to show regular upkeep in recent
years.
Our vendor acquired the vehicle in 2014
and has kept it in good running order as shown by various bills on file. The
engine was overhauled in 2017 with new piston rings, timing chain kit, gaskets,
valve stem oil seals etc. since when it has only covered around 3,000
miles. The chassis was also repaired and waxoil treated in the same year.
The exhaust was renewed in 2016 and a new alternator fitted.
Prior to our vendor’s ownership the Land Rover was owned by a
gentleman in Salisbury who also looked after it well, including fitting new
front seats in 2011 and a new Exmoor Trim canvas hood in 2009. Ten old MOTs show
that it has been in regular use, covering some 20,000 miles since
2008.
As you can see in the photos, it is in
typical ‘working Land Rover’ condition with a few battle scars here and there.
Starting promptly and running well as we have moved it around on site, it will
be a useful workhorse to have around.
