Lot Ended
Description
Recently restored at a cost of over £32,000 and fewer than 2,000 miles
since; a beautiful example of this wonderful V12 GT
Supplied new
by TWR Jaguar of Leamington Spa in August 1990, this very smart looking XJS V12
has covered 80,350 miles and comes with a large file of invoices extending back
to the late 1990s. The service book has 8 stamps up to 59,094 miles in 1997 but
there are many invoices for subsequent maintenance.
Our vendor (the 6th owner) acquired the car in 2006 when
it had covered 77,600 miles but it was kept garaged and on SORN from 2008 –
2016. Taken out of storage in 2015, it was sent to Fisher Restoration of Rushock
for a major refurb which took three years to complete. The full extent of the
work carried out is far too detailed to list in full here but is amply covered
in many invoices on file.
Highlights include:
bodywork restored and repainted; brakes, steering and suspension all fully
rebuilt; new wheel bearings; new water pump; PAS system rebuilt; all new air con
system; new headlining and interior refurb; new window rubbers; alloy wheels
refurbished – the list goes on and on. A quick tot up of the bills shows that
over £32,000 was spent in total.
As you can see
in the photos, the car now looks very smart indeed and has covered under 2,000
miles since the restoration was completed. Starting promptly and running
beautifully as we have moved it around on site, with good 45psi oil pressure and
no warning lights on the dash, it has an MOT until May 2024 with no advisories
recorded.
Gamely on offer at no reserve, the
highest bid takes it home.
