Description
Tasty looking Brera with the potent 3.2 V6 and Q4 all-wheel drive;
rare automatic/tiptronic variant with oodles of history including essential
replacement timing chain in 2017
Supplied new by
Mangoletsi Ltd of Knutsford, Cheshire in July 2007 this pretty, Giorgetto
Giugiaro (of Ital Design) designed Alfa Romeo Brera Coupe is finished in deep
Black (Nero VR.HWB) and sits upon its original 18” multi X-spoke alloy wheels
shod in decent rubber. We also note
fitment of a rorty set of what look to be quad stainless exhaust tips (and
backbox) as well as the desirable glass Panoramic roof as a higher spec ‘Sky
View’ model.
Under the bonnet, we find the
sonorous and powerful 3.2 litre JTS V6 engine which developed 256Bhp when new,
along with 322NM of torque driving all-four wheels here through Alfa’s clever
‘Q4’ system and six-speed Q-Tronic (AWTF-80 SC) automatic /tiptronic
transmission with steering wheel mounted paddles for when the mood takes
you. Performance was brisk, with 60mph coming up in just 6.8 seconds and
a top speed of 149mph (151 post 2008).
Inside
the cockpit of this higher spec ‘Sky View’ example, we find red leather seats
with two-tone red/cream dash, centre console and door panels which set the
stylish interior off well. The
driver’s seat features partial electric adjustment, electric windows, electric
mirror, electric panoramic roof blind, embossed head rests, silver dash trim,
parking sensors, multi-function leather rimmed steering wheel, dual zone digital
climate control with AC, heated rear screen, traction control, ski hatch, front
fog lights, trip computer, start/stop button and a very smart Kenwood
infotainment system with reversing camera, nav, phone connectivity
etc
The Brera Coupe also boasts room in the
back for a couple of kids or smaller passengers as well as the option to fold
the split rear seats further adding to the practicality and useful boot with
tool kit and spare wheel.
The car shows 131,033
miles and looks to have worn this and its age well, with but a few minor marks
present to the exterior/interior as pictured commensurate with
this.
The history file includes the V5C
revealing five former keepers to the current who bought it last summer for a bit
of excitement until the new company car finally arrived, with the last owner
enjoying it for some nine years. We
also find the owner’s pack and service book recording 14 stamps inc. PDI, the
most recent in July 2022 at 128,998 miles by Barclay Motor Co. of
Hopwood.
The file also includes a comprehensive
selection of supporting bills as well as invoices for other major works of note
including a pair of shock absorbers in Sept-20, replacement parking sensor in
Jan-20, replacement wishbones, service, front discs and pads, fuel line costing
£2,098 in Feb-19, re-con prop shaft and replacement window switches in Jan-19,
plus a major service inc. replacement water pump, track rod end and timing chain
with gear in Nov-17 at 99,212 miles in addition to
further invoices dating back to 2013.
The
Brera comes with a current MOT
valid until July 2023 recording just two minor advisories for front tyres which
look to have since been replaced and some 13 old MOTs.
