Without a doubt, one of the smartest Type 916 Alfa Romeo Spiders we have seen, finished in a rare hue of light Blue and sitting on its correct Lusso alloy wheels with burgundy leather interior, this Phase 2 facelift example really does look the part.

Showing just 54,595 miles the car has been enjoyed by our vendor for the last year while he finished restoring another of his classic Alfas, during which time he attended various club meets and other Italian theme car meets – always garnering attention for its condition and colour.

Under the handsome bonnet, we find the 2.0-litre 16-valve four-cylinder TwinSpark Lusso engine which develops 153bhp and 187NM of torque driving the front wheels via five-speed manual transmission which gave the car a zero to sixty time of just 8.4 seconds.

The spec of this car includes the rarer option of an electrically operated soft-top, electric windows, air conditioning and wind deflector.

The history file includes the V5C revealing five former owners to the current, our vendor, an old V5C, the owner’s pack and service book recording nine stamps plus one more historic hand-written entry. 

The last stamp was in May 2019 by Wheelers of Chipping Norton at 48,643 miles and the car appears to have been supplied new by Alfa Romeo Sidwell Motor Company of Exeter.

In addition, we also find some 10 old MOTs, the current valid until March 2023 recording no advisories and a selection of bills for parts and routine maintenance.
