Description
1924 Jowett Short Two
Beautifully restored;
nicely detailed and on the button; very pretty indeed; ideal LC&ES mount for
VSCC activities
This exquisite little Short Two
Jowett sadly comes with nothing in the way of history bar the current V5C. It
has however quite clearly been beautifully and sympathetically restored and with
little work could be a concours contender.
The
chassis has been coach painted just as it would have been in period, and the
exterior paintwork professionally applied to a very high standard, in a lovely
powder blue hue.
The interior has been
retrimmed in correct black ‘vegetable dye’ hide rather than the soft modern
leather so often incorrectly used in the restoration of early vehicles and it
has proven mechanically fit (bar a slipping clutch) since arrival on
site.
It is running 12 volts which has meant
instant starting and what little brightwork Jowett added in period has been
nickelled and not chromed.
Sitting on
beaded-edge tyres, it is delightful and would be very welcome at any VSCC or
Light Car event – not much else to say other than whoever restored the car knew
exactly what they are doing…
