1992 Scania Series III 143M Sleeper
Generally
considered to be one of the best European tractor units of its time; desirable
for its practicality and its collectability
First
registered in October 1992, this 6x2 tractor unit seems to be largely original.
The 3-Series was introduced in 1987 by Scania and the monstrous 143M V8 powered
unit was and is one of the most desirable.
Many
years after production ceased, the 14.3-litre 143M is well
remembered by drivers for their comfort and driveability. Having covered just
over 806,000 kilometres, this one has been well used, but still has years of
life left in it.
Presented here almost as a
blank canvas with the twin impressive exhaust stacks, 12 geared box, handy
sleeper compartment and a tag-axle, this is ready to become part of a collection
and/or being smartened up to be shown at one of the many commercial shows across
the country.
This truck deserves a thorough
refurbishment and is bound to attract interest from the private collector
and reminiscing plant/haulage driver
alike.
