Description
1970 Morris Minor 1000 Panda Car
Genuine
ex-police Moggie: zip head lining; running and riding
Delivered new
on 9th February 1970 to the Metropolitan Police District - New Scotland Yard,
this genuine Panda Morris comes painted in the correct livery with a faux blue
light on top (for show purposes only of course) along with magnetic Police signs
on the flanks.
A photocopy of the original log book shows it moved to
Essex after it was de-commissioned - to a Mr Dixon (of Dock Green perhaps??),
evidence of registration which was used in 1994 to get the registration number
AUL 773H back on the car after 13 years in storage.
The current V5C shows
five previous keepers to the current of 11 years, the car looking and sounding
the part with its correct zip headling and naughty two-tone
horns.
Running and driving while on site, it presents well with just a
few blemishes. It was last MOTd in 2018 with no advisories and there is a copy
handbook on file.
We have seen a few Moggies which have been dummied up
to look like a Police car, so it is nice to see one which actually served
in period - and with Scotland Yard to boot.
