Description
1933 Wolseley Hornet Eustace Watkins
From 62
year ownership; new pistons; brake overhaul; a fun and competitive VSCC eligible
car
This pretty Wolseley has been in the vendor's hands for 62
years, having been passed on to him by a relative who had stored the car for
someone who had driven it into his gate!
Looking slightly sorry for
itself, it was soon put back on the road and has been a regular companion ever
since.
It has always been refered to as having Eustace
Watkins coachwork and there are many similarities which would suggest this
is correct. Given the passage of time, you will need to make your own minds up
on the origin of the bodywork, but it certainly predates 1958.
It has
received some recent work to the engine, with a replacement conrod and
associated whitemetal and has been running and driving on site. It has
potential, as do all Wolseley Hornets, to offer decent performance in a
competitive package with lots of opportunity for use.
