1972 MGB GT
No
Reserve
Good, useable MGB GT with lots of history and much
recent expenditure; overdrive; full-length sunroof; Minilite-style
alloys
First
registered in January 1972, this MGB GT comes with a good file of invoices back
to 1986 to show regular upkeep. This included a full bodywork restoration in
1988 with new front wings, rear wing sections, door skins etc. A full-length
sunroof was also fitted at the same time.
A
dozen old MOTs show that it has covered some 30,000 miles since 1996. In 2018 it
was waxoil treated underneath and received a new radiator and clutch slave
cylinder. Around £2,500 was spent in 2005 on new castle sections, jacking point
and sill repairs. Other expenditure of note includes a new propshaft in 2008;
new rear leaf springs in 2002; reconditioned overdrive unit and new clutch kit
in 2001; new Peco exhaust system, rear shocks and wishbone bushes in 2000;
reconditioned stub axle/king pin assembly in 1999.
More recently, in August this year it was fitted with the following
new parts: front brake discs and pads; caliper seals; flexible hoses; rear wheel
cylinders and brake shoes; steering rack gaiters; wiper blades; fuse box;
overdrive switch; oil and filter; full carpet set; seat cover set. A set of
Minilite-style alloy wheels have also been fitted at some point in the
not-too-distant past.
Starting promptly and
running well as we have moved it around on site, with good 60psi oil pressure,
it seems like a decent driver-quality MGB on offer at No Reserve so the best bid
buys the car.
