Description
1928 Ford Model A Roadster
Strong RHD example;
big 24 HP engine; super fun
The Model A Ford was great value when it
was new and this one, thanks to its big 24hp 3.3-litre engine and RHD looks
equally good value today.
They are fantastic machines, offering
bullet-proof reliability, an amazing parts backup and real on the road power.
With a genuine cruising gate between 50 and 55mph and the ability to maintain
that speed up hill and down dale, long distances can be covered
easily.
This RHD 1928 model hailed from Australia and entered the DVLA
database back in 1992. It has only had two owners since then, our vendor
acquiring it in 1995 and keeping on top of the care and
maintenance evidenced by a massive pile of bills on file.
Paul
Rogers Engineering and latterly Belcher Engineering have been through both front
and rear axles, along with virtually everything else, multiple bills
showing that anything that needed doing was done.
It has a current
VSCC buff logbook which although not transferable, shows that it has been
accepted as 'standard' and we see no reason why a new owner wouldn't get it
passed eligibility - following which a whole host of fun and
entertainment begins.
It has good weather equipment, including a
hood and side screens and comes with a luggage rack, indicators and a nice Ford
calorometer on the top of the radiator.
These Model As make great
family cars and are most commonly seen on trials sections, the grunty engine,
generous ground clearance and general indestructability making them ideal
for that particular task.
This one looks exceptional value at the
suggested guide price - which would normally be where a left hand drive
saloon would be sitting. If you want to have real fun in an old car,
look no further than this one.
