2005 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
(996)
Late model 3.6 widebody S with super spec; 6-speed
manual 'box and removable factory hard-top; £13,500 engine rebuild in 2015 -
ready to be enjoyed!
Supplied new by Porsche
Centre Sutton Coldfield in January 2005, this late model 996 generation of the
Carrera 4S is finished in desirable Midnight Blue Metallic (L39C) and rides on
its correct staggered fitment 18” five-spoke Turbo look 2 alloy
wheels.
For those not in the know, the 4S model
is an all-wheel drive Carrera 4 with the Turbo body, brakes, wheels and
suspension so boasts the wider bodywork of the Turbo without the turbo-charged
engine and as such is a highly desirable model, particularly as here in
convertible guise with optional factory HardTop.
The specification of this late model 996 C4S according to the data
sticker in the service book (the under bonnet sticker is not present) includes
the following factory fit options – windscreen antenna (440), park assist (635),
PCM 2 inc. radio (665), phone module for PCM (666), navigation for PCM (670),
BOSE sound system (680) and 09991 which is for the Porsche Bespoke spec option
where the car leaves the production line and enters the bespoke spec area where
tailored customer options are fitted, usually to the
interior.
We note this lovely car features
eye-catching Savannah leather interior (SD – full) which looks to be extended to
the dash, door panels and centre sections of the removable hard top. We also note, electric seat adjustment
for both front seats, electric windows, heated rear screen for both hard top and
soft top rear screens, cup holder, digital climate control with A/C, on-board
trip computer, electric hood (in Metropol Blue), wind deflector and Porsche
stability management.
Under the engine cover,
we find the 315bhp 3.6-litre flat-six engine driving all four wheels via
six-speed Getrag manual transmission.
This example also looks to have sports tails to the exhaust, although
there is no supporting documentation.
The
history file includes the owner’s pack, two keys and ring binder folder of
history including the V5C revealing just two former keepers, an old V5C, service
book recording eight maintenance stamps, the last in October 2021 at 126,149
miles by Peter Chamber Automotive Porsche and Ferrari Specialists of Tewkesbury
who have looked after the car for the last 12 years and six stamped services,
plus six brake fluid change stamps, two condition report stamps, two airbag
check stamps and one further stamp for a factory recall.
Furthermore, the ring binder includes a host of supporting
maintenance and parts invoices plus a purchase invoice from 2008 at 14,600
miles, various motoring magazine articles, email correspondence, spec list and
at least 11 old MOTs in addition to the current that runs until November 2022
recording just three minor advisories for wear to the edges of both rear tyres
and the usual nonsense for (factory fit) under-trays being
fitted.
A summary of expenditure over the last
12 years through PCA Ltd of Tewkesbury highlights the annual spends including
£3,387 in April 2016 (a major service + two tyres all new brakes, steering
column switch unit and front diff internal shaft) and some £13,500 in May 2015
on an engine rebuild at 97,223 miles, not uncommon with a 3.6 996, but a godsend
for the next owner who can buy it knowing this has been done, and at
considerable cost.
The most recent service in
October 2021 was at a cost of some £2,448 and included six new ignition coils,
new plugs, a new window regulator, door lock quadrant, head lamp restoration and
other routine service items.
A super looking
and sounding example that’s covered average mileage for its age of 126,191
miles, proving that these sports cars can be used every day offering
practicality and versatility with their ample front luggage space, rear seats
and here, factory fit removable hard top to give you year-round enjoyment
prospects.
On offer at an exciting estimate, these 4S variants are good
news, great to look at and super to drive, especially when combined with the
six-speed manual ‘box so go on, treat yourself.
