Description
2006 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5
DoubleCab
Rare version of the 110 showing just 63,652 miles
by two owners the first owner being Somsert County Council
Originally supplied to Exmoor National Park via Somerset County
Council, County Fleet this utilitarian Defender 110 Double-Cab is actually one
of the rarest styles of Defender. Showing just 63,652 miles, it has been with
our vendor, the second owner since December 2014 used lightly on his farmland
near Bath covering only 6,500 miles in his 7-year ownership.
There are a
few battle scars, dings and paint fade, but what Defender that’s led a country
life doesn’t have these – at least its been out in the countryside working where
its supposed to be, doing what it was designed to do.
Finished in classic
green with grey vinyl interior, we have seating for five, a cubby tray
occupying the optional 3rd front middle seat here. At the back we
find a useful galvanised lift back load area with a good set of off-road tyres
on original steel wheels. Under the bonnet we see the trusted 2.5-litre TD5
lump and 5-speed manual transmission with full-time four-wheel drive.
The
history file includes the V5C, original purchase advert from the selling dealer,
current MOT valid until November 2021 with six advisories (the front bumper
has since been replaced), service invoice dated November 2011, NFU extended
vehicle warranty info 2016-2018, annual service receipts during our vendor’s
ownership, purchase receipt from 2014 and at least seven old
MOTs.
Driven over 80 miles to the sale, the truck is ready to be put to
work or used for adventure. Leave it as it is, or tidy it up, either way a good
TD5 with 2 owners and low miles is always going to remain a good investment,
particularly given the recent upwards trend in values and market appeal – they
simply don’t make them like this anymore as we all know.
