2003 Mercedes-Benz CL500 (C215)
Face-lift example of the elegant pillar-less coupe
showing 109,000 miles; desirable black on black; rorty sports tails
Dating from March 2003 this face-lift C215 series Mercedes CL500
features the potent 5.0 V8 developing 306bhp, and is driven here through 5-speed
automatic transmission with tiptronic option plus Sports and Winter
modes.
Finished in Obsidian Black with anthracite leather interior its a
surprisingly rare colour combination, with many finished in silver and as such
is somewhat sort-after as a result. Twinned here with dark tinted windows,
17inch alloy wheels and a pair of rather naughty, and rorty sports tails it not
only looks menacing but sounds like thunder too.
Inside, we see walnut
trim, electric heated memory seats, widescreen Comand navigation and in-car
entertainment centre, adjustable air suspension and ABC along with cruise
control, multi-function steering wheel, automatic lights, dual zone climate
control and on-board computer. The pillar-less design permits all four windows
to be dropped without intrusion and creates a very sleek line for all four
occupants to enjoy from within - yes, its a proper four-seat coupe!
In
the history file we find the V5C, confirming its had just five owners and
showing the car came into the country from Northern Ireland in November 2014. In
addition, we find 5 old MOTs, a replacement service book stamped on supply in
March 2010 by Cunnigham Higgins Mercedes Benz showing an impressive 12 entries
including PDI by Newgate Mercedes, the supplying dealer in 2003. The last
stamped service was this summer in June 2020 by AutoUmbau Porsche Specialist at
108,576 miles. The car currently shows just 109,057 less than 1,000 since this
service. There is a further stamp for brake fluid change at the same
time.
Invoices on file show the car was treated to a new Mass air sensor
in July 2020 at a cost of £103.45, a repair to a defective air suspension
hydraulic hose in April 2019 at a cost of £200 and a pair of replacement rear
ABC level sensors by Mercedes Benz Hull in May 2017 at 95,281 miles costing £615
and a further £973 at MB of Hull in September 2016 for replacement discs, pads
and two front suspension strut rods plus a selection of older service invoices.
UNZ 7539 also comes with 2 keys and a current MOT valid until October
2021 with no advisories recorded. Lots of flash for little cash, the C215 series
CL is hugely undervalued, could this be the time to jump in and enjoy
one?
