1985 Range Rover Classic
No
Reserve
Owned since 2002 within a private collection; early
four door 3.5 petrol with LPG capability; runs and drives but only driven
sparingly in recent times so will need some recommissioning
First
registered in October 1985, this five door Range Rover Classic has been
languishing indoors, as part of a large private collection of motoring goodies.
What it really needs is a green lane, a few stickers, a winch and numerous jerry
cans on the roof, although maybe a little recommissioning
first.
Unfortunately,
little is known about the early life of C288 NHJ. As far as the paperwork is
concerned, the previous owner acquired the car in 2000 and soon after that in
2002, it passed to our vendor, who drove it occasionally over the course of the
next few years but it has mainly been static amongst his collection since the
last recorded MOT in 2003. Having seven recorded previous keepers and showing
just over 91,000 miles, it has certainly been around the block, although you
would not necessarily think it at first glance.
Of
course, it has some wear here and there, but generally the body and chassis have
not a lot to worry about. Able to be run on petrol and LPG, it hides a doughnut
shaped gas tank in the rear, not to mention the Camel trophy style additions
such as the big roof rack, spot lights, double bull bar with chequer plate
detail, sump guard and the all important snorkel. Apart from the drivers seat,
which may need some attention, the upholstery is pretty respectable too and
there is a modern Eisenbacher heater fitted for those cold
mornings.
Running,
stopping and driving, this would be a magnificent machine to add to a collection
or enjoy some adventures, but in the early days of ownership, one might
need a little mechanical know how to get it back on the road after a
while in storage.
